new F28 to hit the water.

A little birdie told me to look in this shed and look what I found.
a new F28 made from carbon and Nomex.
Over size and rudders in the floats, big carbon mast. That light
You can pick it up. Mark Stafford wont be happy.

Apparently will be finished for SOMR 2020?

New Boat to hit the water.

I was at Hart Marine through the week and look what I found? Looks like another new boat ready to launch. A Little birdy told me it will be ready for SOMR 2011. Who owns this new weapon?

Has anyone heard the rumor about the Multihull sailors returning from SA over the long weekend?

Apparently they found out, a diesel engine doesn’t work very well on un-leaded fuel… Oh Dirrrrr. I'm not a mechanic and I could of told them that!!!

Syndicate Members Required

Morning all,

Please read the follow email received from Owen McKenzie about a fantastic idea.
Wouldn't it be great to have this boat sailing and representing our club. Remember in life,
"You regret more things you didn't do in life(when the opportunity arises) than the mistakes you ever make"... Have a go and enjoy life.

I'm hoping to gauge interest in setting up a syndicate for bringing in a racing trimaran from the US. the link to the boat is here http://www.multihulldesigns.com/designs_stock/f40shtri.html it's a Kurt Hughes 40' tri that is able to be singlehanded. I've checked the logistics of transporting the boat (it packs into a 40' container) and the mast is transported as deck cargo. Obviously we would have to get a full survey on the boat prior to purchase and check that it matches it's description prior to purchase (I think I'll fly to Seattle to have a test sail prior to transporting back and would urge other syndicate members to do the same if the process goes ahead). The cost of the boat is $60,000 USD and it looks from the shipping quote I've been able to obtain that freight duty and customs charges will be approximately $20,000 AUD. From that we can have a four member syndicate at $20,000 each or if we can get 8 members involved $10,000 each which would be a cheap entry into a fast ocean capable racing boat. A properly drafted syndicate
contract will be put in place for everyones peace of mind and an insurance and maintenance allowance would be built into the syndicate fees to keep the boat in top condition. I've checked that Allcraft Marine can handle slipping the boat for antifoul
(which is no problems) and have a mooring in Warneet that should be adequate for parking the boat on (although a mooring at Hastings may be better) Please contact Owen McKenzie on precisionsunroofs1@bigpond..com
for more information if interested. Please note this is a focused racing boat not a cruising boat and doesn't claim to be one although it would be comfortable enough for short passages, day sailing or singlehanded races.

Cheers,
Owen McKenzie

Gippsland Lakes for Easter.

Hi,

I am trying to get a group of multis to join us on the Gippsland lakes for the Easter regatta. A notice of race can be found at http://sailglyc.com/

While the cash prizes on offer are for the Mono and multi division, off the beach cats are included in the multis. The club has agreeded to run an OMR set of results for us if we have enough boats (more than 5)

Can you pass this on to any one you feel may be interested? or let me know if any one wants more info

thanks

Marley Point Sailed and Won...

Current National champion for division 2 Shaun Fishley has done it again and won The APC Marley Point Overnight Race 2011. Light winds made it a very tactical race which the Frassld crew read beautifully by winning by 13 minutes and 40 seconds from local boat Triple Expresso, closely followed by the speed machine APC Mad Max. Nothing will hold him back now for his assault on the 2011 SOMR regatta and the coveted Greyhound Trophy. Word also has it he has kept the boat down at the lakes for secret training to back up his efforts from Wangi last year..

Mark Stafford reckons his new F32 zipped up flyer will be the only one that will be able to pop Shaun’s big head if he wins another regatta. Only problem is it, wont be ready for a few years and Shaun’s head might explode by then….. Not nice from the big fella??

Multihull Wanted 3 Peaks 2011.

One of the top crews that won The Three Peaks Race last year and placed third in a similar race in England is looking for a Multihull to do this years race. This is a great opportunity for someone to do one of the premier races in Australia; They are happy to support with logistics and cover cost etc. If anyone is interested contact Terry Travers on merseypharmacy@hotmail.com

Maybe the Flying Deck Chair could skip across the strait and show these gun sailors and runners a fast time???
